Police Launch New Search for Missing Ballarat Woman
Police have launched a new search for missing mum Samantha Murphy four months after she vanished. The 51-year-old was last seen alive on February 4 after she left her home for a morning run.
A phone has been found in farmland near Ballarat during a renewed targeted search for Murphy's body. Police are providing an update on the investigation this morning.
Police have confirmed that a search is currently underway at Buninyong in relation to Murphy's disappearance. Detectives from the Missing Persons Squad as well as a range of specialist resources are involved in the search.
Police will allege that the murder of Murphy was a deliberate act that occurred on the day she disappeared.
